My father worked abroad for as long as I can remember…getting lost in the airport’s buzz whilst dropping dad off or picking him up, had inadvertently become a frequent, yet very important constant in my life since a very young age. The running joke at my parents’ home always was that if they could, the family cars would drive their way to the airport on their own. Of course, this was a time before Uber, when seeing someone off at the airport was still considered cool!
I would have never guessed that those visits would become so inherent, I would make a career out of them.
Hard on the heels of my 17th birthday, I was the proud holder of a Private Pilot Licence, which was my baptism in aviation. During my Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malta, and whilst building my flying hours, I landed my first engineering role at Malta International Airport, which in spite of it being quite an exciting engineering job of fixing airfield fire-engines, and maintaining HVAC, it allowed me to be as close to the airplanes as possible! Soon after graduating University in 2018, I joined a Part 145 & Part 147 organisation in Malta, which marked my entrance into Business Aviation. Since then, I had the opportunity to work in numerous Business Aviation operators (AOCs) in Malta and San Marino, as well as local Approved Training Organisations, specializing in Compliance Monitoring, Quality and Safety Management in Flight Operations, Aircrew Licencing, and Continuing Airworthiness.
As an aircraft management company, the operation at Hyperion Aviation is diverse. Notwithstanding this, the immense satisfaction of operating against the highest of standards and excellence, in a world where aircraft owners will always want the best out of their asset, is what fuels all of us with motivation to get up, show up, and do the job!
