We are seeking experienced and driven professionals to join our team in Malta as Safety Manager for both Operations (OPS) and Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO). These are key EASA-mandated positions responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, safety performance, and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Ensure compliance with ICAO Annex 19 and EASA safety requirements.
  • Manage hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation processes.
  • Conduct safety investigations and promote root cause analysis.
  • Oversee Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) programmes.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and just reporting environment.
  • Provide safety performance reporting and recommendations.
  • Work closely with Compliance Monitoring and operational teams.

Profile & Experience

  • Technical / Aeronautical / Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience (2 years in OPS/CAMO roles).
  • Proven experience in Safety Management and compliance monitoring.
  • Certification in:
    • Safety & Accident Investigation Techniques.
    • SMS Advanced Training.
    • Flight Data Monitoring (FDM).
  • Strong knowledge of EASA OPS, CAMO, Part M, Part 145.
  • Extensive knowledge of ICAO Annex 19.
  • Experience with Centrik and WebManuals systems.
  • Expertise in:
    • Risk Management and Safety Analysis.
    • Management systems (OPS / CAMO / IS).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to promote a fair, non-punitive safety culture.
  • Fluent in English with strong reporting capability.

Additional (CAMO-specific):

  • Knowledge of maintenance methods.
  • Fuel Tank Safety, EWIS, and Human Factors training.
  • Aircraft type familiarisation (as above).

General Requirements:

  • Acceptable to Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate (TMCAD).
  • Strong managerial and organisational skills.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • Capability to support oversight activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
